NEWS RELEASE                                                                                                  01st May 2024

The National Association for People Abused in Childhood (NAPAC) and At Scale Limited have established a formal partnership, collaborating on projects across the voluntary, health and public sector that focus on improving service provision for survivors of abuse.

The partnership has already begun delivering on its goals. Throughout 2023, NAPAC and At Scale collaborated on the design of six new all age Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs) across the Southeast of England.

At Scale oversaw the project on behalf of the NHS, with NAPAC informing on the trauma-informed design of each centre, facilitating physically safe and emotionally secure environments for survivors that guard against re-traumatisation.

SARCs provide dedicated care for people who have been raped or sexually assaulted, supporting tens of thousands of individuals each year.

Commenting on the recent announcement, Dr Kim Bond, Head of Development for NAPAC said:

“We’re delighted to be partnering with At Scale on impactful projects that will make a positive difference to those who are accessing services at their most vulnerable. Both NAPAC and At Scale understand the importance of service provision that empowers and supports, and we look forward to our partnership demonstrating this in practice over the years to come.”

Speaking about the new partnership, Mike Gill, Director of At Scale said:

“Working with NAPAC has highlighted considerable victim focused thinking and the continued need to include trauma informed, lived experience into our health and justice and local authority projects. Kim and the NAPAC team have added invaluable experience in support of our clients’ developing services for vulnerable people. We very much look forward to working more closely with NAPAC going forward.”

Founded in 2017, At Scale provides support that nurtures transformational change and co-production in all their projects, supporting NHS, local authority and community sector clients’ efforts to achieve the best outcomes for their services users. At Scale acts as the conduit for collaboration - combining dedicated programme and project management with lived experience and the voice of service users.

The only UK charity of its kind, NAPAC has supported adult survivors of childhood abuse for twenty-five years, delivering direct support via telephone and email to over 60,000 survivors.

It advocates for positive legislative change at a national and international level and has trained numerous police forces, NHS trusts, law firms and schools in trauma-informed practice.
